AI content generators often fall short of delivering high-quality, meaningful content. Recognizing this gap, Prowly has developed an AI Assistant tailored explicitly for PR professionals. It mimics a creative partner who works in the background, helping craft compelling press releases. Now this assistance begins at the very start, with the search for engaging story angles.
Last year, AI content generators were popping up everywhere, including martech platforms. However, it soon became clear that generic AI tools weren't particularly useful for modern PR storytellers. In a December survey run by Prowly, "AI generated content" was cited as a PR trend to be left behind [source]. The primary reasons for this disappointment were the low quality of the content and the significant amount of prompting and editing required to produce meaningful results.
As the demand for specialized AI tools is rising, Prowly created an AI Assistant that fits the individual creative workflow of PR pros and follows press release writing best practices.
“From the start, our vision of writing a press release with AI was different than just putting one key message and hitting the button to generate it. Our first AI feature, launched in September 2023, was actually a sequence of live-generated questions that users have to answer. Thus, they end up with the final draft of their press release that includes facts, numbers, and details relevant to a chosen audience. The quality of the final output has always been crucial for us - and we are committed to follow this path while developing new AI tools for PR practitioners” - says Sebastian Przyborowski, Chief Product Officer and Co-founder of Prowly.
Prowly is introducing two new AI features:
- The first AI-based tool on the market for ideation in PR storytelling - users can now access three unique story angle ideas whenever they need a creative spark to start their press release writing process. Once the ideal angle is selected, users can transform it into a full-fledged draft.
- AI-based content review and suggestions - helping practitioners improve the quart of their draft, leveraging press release writing best practices based on eleven criteria. They can also choose a sentence or a paragraph they’d like to edit, and ask an AI Assistant to rewrite it, such as make it shorter, longer, or change its tone of voice.
These features complement Prowly’s AI innovations from last year, which include instant journalist suggestions based on press release content, along with AI-generated emails and subject lines that effectively summarize the story users are trying to pitch to journalists.
